Book Review: The Diné Reader: An Anthology of Navajo Literature

by Rhiannon Sorrell on 2022-06-07T10:43:21-07:00 in Diné Studies | 0 Comments

We are proud to feature another book review by one of Diné College’s faculty, Dr. Christine Ami!

In this review, Dr. Ami bends genres by transforming the typical book review format into a personal review essay that intertwines weaving and birds into a critical conversation on going beyond re-inventing the enemy’s language. The review calls attention to other forms of Diné story telling that we must remember and that many of us engage in in various disciplines, but are often left out of because they do not fit the English or creative writing disciplines.

To preserve the integrity of the format and layout of the essay, we will be linking the review HERE rather than reposting the review in its entirety.

Christine M. Ami, PhD (Navajo) is the Native American Studies Minor Advisor and an associate professor of Native American studies at Diné College.
